Traffic Lights and Locomotive

· Announcement

Under the 'Traffic Light System' being implemented from 11:59pm on 2 December 2021, all non-essential businesses and societies/clubs need to decide whether to follow the vaccination pass route, or not. This is where participation for audience, performers, crew, students, teachers etc. is only available to people who are fully vaccinated or have a valid exemption certificate.

As of 3rd December, anyone attending a Locomotive workshop or performing in a Locomotive show will need to be double vaccinated and be able to show their vaccination pass. This includes tutors and guests joining classes and shows, and will be the rule regardless of the requirements of the venue in which events are held.  Your pass will only need to be scanned and recorded once. This will last for six months and then your pass will need to be updated.

We also require scanning in/record keeping, mask wearing, handwashing, and general safe hygiene practices.

Our regular performance venue BATS Theatre has announced they will be implementing this requirement as "this is the safest way for us to bring artists and audiences together", and we agree completely.

When we founded Locomotive we identified manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga as two of our core values. The responsilibity of holding those values is to take action where we are able to protect our participants, our team, and our audience. We care about you, we care about our community, and we care about keeping live art running.

We look forward to seeing you on board in 2022.
